Tummy time!

Davin and I were having some tummy time today and he rolled over 2 times in a row! I was so proud of him :) As soon as I grabbed the camera to capture the moment, he wouldn't do it. Typical. Hahaha! I filmed him anyways because he is too dang cute....and I wanted those of you that do not get to see him regularly, get to watch him in action. Enjoy!

Our House

After several requests I am finally getting pics up of our house. There are still some small things yet to be finished, but overall it is completely liveable. We absolutely LOVE our house and could not imagine it turning out any other way. My dad was our contractor and without him our house would not be as perfect as it is...Thank you dad!!! So if you are looking for a good contractor to build you a hosue - look him up - Alternative Design :)

Okay so....
After I posted my frustrations about Babywise - D has been sleeping at least 7 hours each night! Last night he was put to bed at 930p, woke up at 5a needing his pacifier, then fell asleep until 730a! It was wonderful!!! So I think we have the nighttime sleeping tackled, now its just getting him to nap during the day. I have been trying religiously for the last 2 days to get him to take a daytime nap, with no such luck. He is now eating about every 4 hours, so I will usually feed him, keep him awake for a couple of hours then put him down for a 1 1/2 to 2 hour nap. Yeah right. Every time I put him down he will usually be happy laying there for about 20-25 minutes then will start crying and wont let up until his next feeding. It is crazy. Once he starts to cry I will let him go for about 10-15 minutes, then go in his room, tell him he is ok, etc, and then leave the room. Yet he continues to cry. Yesterday you could tell he was so tired, but would not go to sleep. Each time I fed him he would practically fall asleep eating, but I stuck to my guns and kept him awake, hoping he would decide to sleep at his next naptime. But no, no such luck. I feel awful letting him cry for so long, but I am desperate to get him to nap. Not just for my sanity but for his as well. I am home all day again today and will try it again, so we will see what happens. Keep your fingers crossed that he finally gives in and goes down for a nap....or two....or three :)

Cousin Kyndle

I was asked to babysit my niece Kyndle yesterday and it was so much fun! It was the first time I had watched her by myself since I have had Davin. She was so good with him and was very kind and gentle, she is such a sweetheart! When she arrived I was still getting dressed, so I asked her to play in my room so I could keep an eye on both her and D. She was happy to oblige and turned my bed into a train. At every stop we picked up more toys and animals from Davin's room - so needless to say my bed was covered by the time we were done!
She asked me to read to them (she loves books!) so of course I did, and shortly thereafter she told me "Can we stop reading now, its making me tired." It was too cute! So we were done reading but continued playing with all kinds of other things. She has gotten to that age (3) where she is so much fun and because she is such a vocal child, she can tell exactly what she wants or doesnt want and it is fairly easy to carry on a conversation with her. I could not have asked for a more fun and enjoyable morning!! Thank you Kyndle Ruby!!!

Chloe & Davin

Aislinn & Chloe were in town for the last few days and Chloe got to meet Davin for the first time. She was so excited to see the "bebe" it was super cute! Aislinn told her she could only touch his hands and feet - and she was so good! Chloe was wonderful with Davin :)
She even brought along her "bebe" and was obsessed with buckling her in Davin's carseat. She really is too cute!!

Babywise Frustration!

Okay, so we have been doing Babywise for a while now and I am starting to get frustrated. I know we have not been super-anal about it all, but we have been pretty consistent - I would say that normally, but at this point I do not feel like it is working. He eats about every 3 hours and I keep him awake afterwards and then attempt at putting him down for a nap. And that is where it gets tricky.....he cries and cries and cries. He has NOT learned how to fall asleep on his own yet and I think I am ready to try something new. He is not sleeping more than about 4-5 hours at night either and I am very ready for a longer nights sleep. He does go back to sleep after that feeding, but only for about 3 hours. It is getting tough.....
I like the idea of Babywise, but am not seeing the results I would hope to by now. For those of you that have done Babywise and have had success - please send some advice my way, I would love it!!! Send it to my email - jessicajcain@yahoo.com

Davin is beginning to talk more and more everyday - it is so much fun! But I swear he is just like his father....everytime I bring the camera around he stops talking and smiling and just stares. Its hilarious, but can be a bit frustrating sometimes too. I did manage to get a decent video of him talking, so I hope you enjoy!
