The first time I put Davin in this he wasn't too sure what to do or how to get a hold of all the fun things attached to it....
Well as you can see, he is now really enjoying playing in it and of course, loves to put anything he can reach into his mouth.

Back yard hike

We have been looking into buying one of those heavy duty baby backpacks, the metal frame kind, that we can carry Davin on our backs in. So I went to Lots for Tots last week and they had a few of them. I was very excited and ended up buying one. We have been wanting to try it out to make sure it was a wise investment, so we decided to go on a hike in our own backyard. We live on about 10 acres and do not use most of them, so we thought we should take a little hike with our new pack and tote Davin around. Tavis wore the pack and he loved it. It was really easy to put on and take off and the best part is that Davin absolutely LOVED the ride! We all know he loves constant motion, and with this pack he could see everything, it was great!


He managed to stay awake almost the entire hike...more like a walk....but did decide he had enough and feel asleep towards the end.

It snowed - again!

We had snow again at the house. It is always so neat! We cannot wait for Davin to be old enough to enjoy it!

Sweet Potatoes!!

Tavis fed Davin sweet potatoes (which he loves) the other night and halfway through it he decided to let D feed himself - hilarous!

Grammy & Grandpa

We had my parents up for dinner the weekend we got back from Maui. I don't even remember what we ate, but I do know it was good to see them again. And I know they were very happy to be around Davin (and us) again!

Last Beach Day!

We spent our last day on the beach and it was one of the nicest days yet! We were all able to get in that bit of sun and enjoy swimming in the ocean - it was great! We even took Davin to the ocean and he wasn't quite sure of it. He did not cry or scream, but he did not seem to fully enjoy himself. He LOVED the sand though and wanted to put it all in his mouth! We had to work really hard to keep his hands down, it was pretty challenging since he has gotten so strong. Even though he did not love the ocean, we sure had a good time exposing him to it!

Baby Sunglasses!

I went into a swimsuit shop and found these sunglasses for Davin. He looks too stinkin' cute in them and he does not seem to mind wearing them. So many people have commented on how cute he looks in them and every time I see him wearing them, I cannot help but laugh! He is sooo cute!!

Tavis was holding Davin and drinking a beer (not an unusual occurance). But this time Davin was facinated by his beer and could not get enough of it....

Hahahaha.....

Needless to say Tavis was done with his beer after that.....well he had already polished it off prior to Davin sucking on it, so no, we did not waste any beer! :P

The boys and their boards

I forgot to mention that it is whale season and I have never seen so many whales! It is absolutely amazing how many we have seen. Honestly, about every 10 minutes or less we see some form of whale activity - it is breathtaking!!

Kyndle Ruby :)

We have been letting Davin roll around naked outside during the day and he seems to enjoy it. We thought we would give him a break from wearing his diapers and outside he is free to go pottie anywhere!

Maui 2009

We are in Maui with Tavis' parents, his sister and her family and Marc and Teresa Wright. We are staying in Puamana, in Lahaina, which is our favorite place to visit. This year we ended up with a wonderful condo - it is a three bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront, and it is just perfect! Chris, Greg, Marc and Teresa are staying in another condo a few doors down and it works out great.
The weather has been pretty good since we have been here. Cloudy for the most part, but you know Maui, even when cloudy its still so warm! We have been pretty much hanging out at our condo. The guys rented surfboards and paddle boards and they have been doing that everyday. It is so nice for them to be able to walk out of the condo and go surfing whenever they want - they are loving it. I even tried paddle boarding yesterday, and it is hard! It looks like it should be so easy, but holy cow, keeping your balance is the hardest part. Tavis took me out yesterday and I did not fall once, but I moved very slowly. My legs were shaking so bad it was making it harder....I was nervous for some strange reason, but I will do it again. Tavis told me I have to do it everyday....hahahaha.....we will see.....

We have started to put him in this fancy toy and he seems to like it so far. He can't completely hold himself upright yet, so sometimes he gets frustrated, but overall he seems to enjoy it. I think he got tired the other day and I found him with his chin resting on the side of it, and he was staring at the farm house - it was too cute!!

I wanted to update you all on the rice cereal addition to Davin's diet. After the first attempt we tried it again a few days later and it was still a no-go. He was even less interested in it the second time as compared to the first. So we decided to give it a few more days....
In the meantime, Tavis left for Kentucky for a Waste Expo with his dad, leaving Davin and I all to ourselves. It would not have been too bad besides the fact that Davin did not sleep well - at all. For the past week he had been sick and was not sleeping well so most nights he would end up in our bed just so he would sleep. Well, I think he got used to that and expected it while Daddy was gone as well. It was pretty rough on me, but I made it through. Since all the guys were gone I spent every night down at Tasha's and had dinner with them - it was wonderful!
One of the nights I decided to try his rice cereal again and he LOVED it!!! Woohoo!! I made it a bit thicker this time and he had no problem finishing off the entire bowl! Since then he has been having rice cereal once a day in the evenings and seems love it still. Yes!!
Another new trick he decided to accomplish while Tavis was gone is rolling from his back to his tummy. He has been trying to do it for a while now and just now got the hang of it. Once he finally got it down, he rolled all the way across Tasha's living room - it was hilarious!! Now that he has become "mobile" we have to watch what we leave on the ground because he can get to it....and shove it in his mouth - his new addiction too!
