6 Months!!!

Time flies! Davin is 6 months old today and I cannot believe it. He has changed so much and continues to amaze us everyday. We are so blessed!

We took him in for his 6 month checkup on Wednesday and here is a recap of his growth from birth to current:

He is so small! We have been feeding him cereal and other "solids" twice a day, since he was 4 months old and he is still nursing all the time. We were shocked when the pediatrician told us he was in the 4% for his weight, utterly shocked. Obviously he is going to be a little boy - good thing I have suspenders to help hold his pants up! Lol! We asked the pediatrician if he was concerned about his weight and he said no (phew!) but just to keep feeding him solids and up it to 3 times a day. So we are doing our best to make that happen and let me tell you - the lunch feeding is the hardest one! Not because he won't eat, but because I have to stop everything and work my schedule around his eating even more than usual. Its crazy, but we want to make sure D gets all the food he needs to keep him growing strong.

Its amazing. Everyday Tav and I say how cute he is and how much we love him, but words really cannot express how much he has changed our lives. We certainly have our moments of "what did we get ourselves into" when he won't stop crying or fussing, but in the end we wouldn't wish our life was any other way. Davin has been such a wonderful gift to us and we are so thankful everyday for him. We are so lucky to be able to share him with our friends and family and are VERY proud parents. We love you D.

Skinny Legs!!

Davin was playing in his walker and I couldn't resist taking his picture. His legs were dangling out the bottom and they looked sooo skinny! It certainly made me laugh :D

Easter!

Well, to be honest we did not do anything exciting. In fact we did not even get Davin an Easter basket...bad parents, I know. Hahaha! Both sets of grandparents got Davin gifts though - new books, clothes, and toys. It is always fun getting new things. I do plan on doing a basket for him in the future, its just he has no idea what is going on yet, so we felt it was kind of pointless....
We did have brunch with Tavis' family though, and had a yummy ham dinner with both our families that night as well. So at least we did something :)

Besides the few Easter activities, we did manage to get a lot done around the house this past weekend. We finally got the upstairs rec room near complete and it looks so good!! We had been wanting to paint some of the walls for a while now, so I finally went and got the paint and managed to complete it all in just a few hours. We decided to paint just one wall to showcase all of Tavis' race stuff. It looks so nice and I know he is very pleased with how it all turned out. We also finished staining the terrace and it looks amazing! Now if we could only get the plaster and floor finished....soon, very soon.....

Radio Flyer

For Christmas Papa (Greg) & Tutu (Chris) got Davin a Radio Flyer horse. We finally set it up and let Davin ride on it. As he is with most new things he was not too sure of it. But now he enjoys being on it. We finally put batteries in it too so it makes all kinds of galloping and neighing sounds. He just stares at it when it makes noise - he's not sure where the sound is coming from. Its pretty funny actually.

Baby Laughs!!

This video is hilarious - today Davin and I were hanging out and for whatever reason he started laughing at me and would not stop! I loved it!! And luckily I was able to capture it on film!!

Visitors!

Recently Marcy and her "big boi" Javonn came up to Humboldt for a visit. They made it up to see the house and spend some time with Davin and I. It was sooo nice to see them again, and I cannot believe how big J has gotten - he is too stinkin cute! He was so good with Davin and the four of us had a wonderful time. We hope to see them both again soon!

First 50 Ride

Tavis just took Davin on his first 50 ride and I am patiently waiting for them to come back....I assume since they have been gone for a while that Davin is enjoying himself, and I know Tav is! Aahhh, this is just the first of many rides with Daddy!
