Happy Easter!!

This year we actually celebrated Easter with Davin and it was really fun. The day before we took him the giant Easter Egg Hunt at the McKinleyville Shopping Center, and he wasn't to sure about it at first. He was doing okay while we held him, waiting for them to say "go!". But as soon as we set him down to run and get some eggs he completely spazzed out and started crying. It was too funny!

It only took a few short minutes and he was over the crying bit and was off running to find eggs. It was pretty crazy really, there were little plastic blow bubble containers and chocolate eggs all over the place! With Davin only having a few teeth we decided he did not need to stock up on chocolate, so we cut him off pretty early. Actually the older kids knew exactly what they were doing and snatched up the eggs so fast! We had to sort of find a little section and guard it from others just so Davin would have something to get! Ha! It was cute though and once he got the hang of it he just wanted to keep going....good thing we had more eggs delivered to our house on Sunday :)

Sunday morning we woke up and found that the Easter bunny had come and left little eggs all over the living room! As soon as Davin woke up we took him in the living room and gave him a little box to collect his eggs in. The Easter bunny was very smart and put little goldfish crackers in some eggs, and yogurt melts in others - two of Dav's favorite snacks! Once he had all the eggs collected, we sent him on a search for his basket. He was so excited when he found it, started clapping and smiling it was too cute. And it certainly didn't take too long for him to completely empty the basket of all its goodies! Not to mention as soon as he figured out there was food in the eggs, he proceeded to open all of them and eat everything. So much for eating in moderation! ;-)

After all that hunting we headed down to Tasha and Kennys for brunch. My family all came as well as Tav's family and Grandpa. As usual the food was delicious - homemade quiche, potatoes, bacon, sausage, cinnamon rolls, and fruit salad...oh and bloody marys and mimosas. Perfect! And as if having a huge breakfast wasn't enough we had an early dinner up at our house with all the same people! No complaints here though, out family loves good food and good company! Oh I almost forgot to mention, it started snowing during brunch and snowed all day long - it was our first white Easter!!
