Memorial Weekend - Headed to SoCal

Davin and I headed down south with my parents for Memorial weekend and it was a long drive, but a very quick trip! Since work is getting busy for Tav, he could not come down with us (we were gone for 9 days!), but he did have some fun of his own. He headed up with Coos Bay, Oregon to go ride in the dunes with some of his buddies. He had a blast and is itching to get back up there. But as the summer progresses, work gets busier and busier, so who knows when that will be. It was his first time being away from Davin for an extended period of time and it was weird. I sure missed his help - not that the fam didn't pitch in, but it's just not the same kind of help. He said that he really started to miss us once he got back from Coos Bay because the house was empty and he was ready to see us again....I felt kinda bad at that point....sorry hon :(

My mom had a booth at the Fiesta Hermosa Fair to sell her jam and she did pretty well selling it....not as well as she had hoped but it was a good trip regardless and it was sooo nice to see all of our family that lives in that area. My aunts have never met Davin so it was their first time seeing him and it was so great. They were wonderful and spoiled him of course! I had actually told my parents to keep me coming down a secret from everyone so that D and I could surprise them all, and we were actually able to pull it off!! My mom almost let it slip once, but I caught her just in time. All the relatives were very excited to see the two of us, as were we to see them. It had been some time since I have even seen them that it was just nice to catch up again. I got to see Hev too and that was awesome - thanks for coming out to visit!!

My dad's mom and extended family

SoCal was really nice!

The weather was gorgeous and the fair was a block from the beach. But somehow I never really managed to enjoy the beach - only from a distance. We did put our feet in the sand though....does that count? Like I said it was a fast trip, and if my mom does the fair again next year we have a better "relaxation" plan, where we can enjoy the beach - let's just hope the weather is nice!

Davin was SUCH a good little traveler!!

I'm not going to lie though, he definately had his moments....like when we were trying to find a hotel in Sac, we had been driving 7 hours already, Sally (our GPS) was talking but we couldn't hear her since D was screaming in back seat. Yeah that was an adventure. But can you blame the boy? We were tired of being stuck in the car too. Honestly though, he did really really well, I don't know if he could have been much better. Oh and did I mention our "cure" for his crying bits? We have this cd called Silly Songs by Brent Holmes and D absolutely LOVES it. Everytime, and I'm serious about this, EVERYTIME he was fussing because he was done riding in the car we would turn on this cd and instantly D would stop fussing. It was hilarious! And such a lifesaver!!

P.S. SAS & Hev ..."it won't shoot out your pants!" Hahahaha - love and miss you both!!
