Our latest idea is to start working out together. For me it has always been easier to get motivated and stick with it if I have someone that is counting on me to show up at the gym. For the last few months I have been giving some very poor attempts at getting back on the workout wagon, and have not succeeded at sticking with it for various reasons. Tavis on the other hand, has not "worked out" since he quit racing a few years ago. And for whatever reason, at this moment we both feel like we are in the worst shape we have ever been. So we decided its time to do something about it - here's our plan:
Monday through Thursday wake up at 5:30am (early I know, but Tav works at 7am) and head upstairs to our little "gym". Each day we will either be running on the treadmill, riding the bike, using the bosu ball for squats/situps, or lifting weights. Our plan is to alternate days, so for example on Monday Tav runs on the treadmill and I do bosu/weights, and on Tuesday we switch. So whoever is doing the bosu/weights will be the one to deal with Davin if he wakes up early (since we all know he is not the best sleeper). This plan might sound ridiculous to some of you, but we are going to give our best shot. We were going to start this morning, but we did not get home from the lake until midnight last night. So we are starting our plan tomorrow instead. We told ourselves that we have to stick with it for at least 3 weeks - that is how long "they" say it takes before something becomes habit.
Neither of us are looking forward to that alarm going off at 5:30am, but we are ready for a change. And there is no time like the present to begin. Wish us luck!!
P.S. This is what we want to get back to....LOL....I kid, I kid....hahahaha :D
